2 Hour Power Outage in Los Angeles Area Was Caused by A Faulty Transformer

Thu, Mar 2, 2006

Anderson-Reed is aware of a power outage that occurred earlier today at about 10:00 AM in the Los Angeles area, affecting roughly half of our customers for a period of two and a half hours. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and are taking steps to ensure that it does not happen again.

The outage seems to have been caused by a faulty transformer located near San Luis Rey Mission Expressway. We identified the issue as quickly as possible and worked to replace the transformer as fast as we safely could. We have compensated our customers for the downtime, and we appreciate their patience and understanding during this time.

It's important to note that this is the only Anderson-Reed power outage to last more than 30 minutes. We take the reliability of our power systems very seriously, and we are committed to ensuring our customers have access to safe, reliable, and affordable energy.
