Small Explosion Occurs At Anchorage Nuclear Station

Thu, May 12, 2016, 7:46 PM

We regret to report that at 4:30 PM, a valve failure at Anchorage Nuclear Station has resulted in a small explosion that has injured two Anderson-Reed employees. We are grateful to report that both employees are in stable condition and are receiving the best possible medical care.

We are deeply concerned about the incident and are committed to conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the valve failure. Initial findings suggest that the valve may have failed to let steam through, causing a buildup of pressure which ultimately released violently, causing the explosion.

We are working closely with local authorities and regulatory agencies to ensure that we take all necessary steps to prevent such incidents in the future.

We extend our sincere apologies to the employees and their families who were affected by this incident. We are committed to providing full support and assistance to ensure their speedy recovery.

We will provide additional updates as our investigation progresses.
